Artist Statement

​

        I am a collagist. I like to put various materials together, take them apart, and reassemble them to arrive at the finished art work. I consistently use this process in all the work that I make. My primary medium is welded steel. I use conventional art materials along with my computer to make my art. I freely combine all these materials and techniques.

        I have been working on my Abstract Head series for twenty plus years using a variety of materials. The work has evolved and changed considerably over time. I use the head shape because it is easily recognizable and consistent regardless of the degree of abstraction. I believe in setting limits and finding ways to expand on them. I keep this basic principle in mind which provides me with endless possibilities. It’s all up to my imagination!
